Coracle boats are small, round shaped boats and originated in Wales, normally used for fishing, transporting goods and poaching. Most recently they have been used recovering footballs from the River Severn, which lay behind Shrewsbury Football Club!

We enjoyed the autumn sun as all the teams met at Pengwern Boat Club. The day began with some well needed practice sessions to get us ready for the big race. Later in the day, our teams were called up….The Boatles & Row Hard or Row Home. It’s fair to say, we did what we could and it’s the taking part that counts.

As well as being great fun, the aim of the event is to raise money for the vital services provided by Macmillan Cancer Support. In total, the event has raised over £320,000! Total donations so far, for 2022, have reached £14,700.

We have raised a fantastic £1,400!
